The director of a company which supplied the electric gates in which a six-year-old girl died has been charged with killing her.
Semelia Campbell died in June 2010 when she was caught between the rolling gate and a brick post at the flats where she lived off Maine Road in Moss Side.
Kriston Kearns, of Offerton Road, Hazel Grove, has been charged with unlawfully killing Semelia by gross negligence.
He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on 12 March.
Semelia had been playing with a friend when she became trapped between the gate and a retaining wall on 28 June 2010.
Her mother Judith Gilroy and the emergency services tried to free her but she went into cardiac arrest.
She was taken to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital where she died a short time later.
