We have now started to upload instructional You Tube video's to help configure/amend product settings on our range of safety devices.
Shear or crush points that are found on automatic electric sliding gates, swing gates, roller shutter doors, lift tables and machine doors need protecting with a safety edge or safety bumper. Our Bircher safety edges are manufactured to order at our UK warehouse and comprise of a flexible rubber profile mounted on an aluminium rail with an internal switching strip. They are constantly monitored using a switching unit that monitors the internal 8k2 resistor by using either a wired unit - EsGate, ESR or ESD, a wireless RFGate single or dual channel system for directional logic or inductive transmission system – InTra6. When an edge is activated, the safety relays open providing a stop signal to your control system. Similarly, should a fault develop such the cable being cut they will detect this and again stop your system.
The Bircher pressure sensitive safety edges systems conform to EN 12978, EN ISO 13849-1 and EN 1760-2, when used with an appropriate controller they achieve CAT2 or Cat3.
Please leave any feedback if you find them useful and we will continue to add additional videos.
